Open Positions
Postdoctoral level (MSCA Fellowships)
We are welcoming Marie S. Curie Postdoctoral Fellowships #msca with Sorbonne Université:
Our two proposals :
- Unraveling the Mechanisms of Microbial Lipolysis in Fat Malabsorption via Spatiotemporal Microfluidicsand Single-Cell Omics with T. Le Roy and F. Carrière.
- Spatio-Temporal Quantification of Intraphagosomal Lipid Lipolysis via Advanced Bio-Imaging
Pleas contact us directly or follow the procedure from the Sorbonne Université website.
PhD level
Funding #1 : We have a funding from Sorbonne Université for a PhD student (3 years) : Link on ADUM
In case you consider applying to the PhD scholarship, please send me an email with a cv, a cover letter, the name and contact details of 2 references, and answers to the following questions :
-
Have you formulated emulsions or worked with dispersed systems (foams, colloidal suspensions, liposomes)? If so, please describe the system, the characterization techniques you used (particle sizing, tensiometry, rheology, etc.), and the context (internship, master’s project, industry). We are particularly interested in experience with w/o emulsions with sub-micron droplets.
- Have you practiced mammalian cell culture under sterile conditions? If so, please specify the cell lines or primary cells you handled, the associated techniques (transfection, flow cytometry, immunolabeling, etc.), and the level of autonomy you reached.
- Have you used microfluidic devices or a fluorescence microscope in an experimental setting? If so, briefly describe the device or setup, the observable you quantified, and the image processing or data analysis workflow you implemented — including the programming language(s) used.
- What is your current use of the following tools, and in what context: generative AI? Git/GitHub or equivalent? What is your level of experience in Python development?
Funding #2 : We have a funding from CNRS 80|Prime for a PhD student (3 years) : Link on ABG
The Phd supervision will be between F. Niedergang (Institut Cochin), JM Mallet, B. Dumat and me (ENS / IPGG).
In case you consider applying to the PhD scholarship, please send me an email with a cv, a cover letter, the name and contact details of 2 references, and answers to the following questions :
-
Phagocytosis can be triggered by distinct receptor classes (e.g. FcγR, CR3, TIM-4). Do you expect phagosome resolution to differ depending on which receptor is engaged? Justify your reasoning.
-
Do you have hands-on experience with any of the following: live-cell fluorescence microscopy, lipid-based systems (liposomes, emulsions, supported bilayers), or quantitative image analysis? Describe briefly one concrete experiment or analysis you performed, the system involved, and a specific technical difficulty you encountered.
-
Which aspect of the project represents the steepest learning curve for you, and how would you plan to address it? Be specific.
